Elewana Tarangire Treetops sits alone in a private game reserve which is home to buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and elephant. The lodge consists of treehouses positioned on a hill with views to Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley wall.
You can spend your days enjoying game drives in the nearby national park in specially designed 4x4 vehicles with knowledgeable and entertaining driver-guides. Night drives are also available and will provide you with a different view of the diverse inhabitants of the bush.Walking safaris are conducted by armed, highly trained and knowledgeable guides and give you the opportunity for an 'up close and personal' adventure. Between game viewing activities at Tarangire Treetops you can visit the local Maasai villages or relax by the pool overlooking the waterhole in the camp. The perfect way to complete a day's safari is at the Baobab Bar, built around a gracious old baobab tree, where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail while watching an incredible Tarangire sunset.

Room

Each of Treetops' elevated rooms boast one of the largest bedrooms to be found in any camp or lodge in East Africa – with a floor space of 65 square metres – and all with an exotic double shower en suite bathroom. With furnishings that create warmth and demonstrate a commitment to local craftsmanship, the ‘up-in-the-air’ experience is completed by the open-fronted room design affording views across the Tarangire plains from an expansive but private balcony.

Accommodation at Tarangire Treetops comprises 20 thatched treehouse suites which are built on platforms high in the branches of baobab, mopani and wild fig trees.The entire room is enclosed in mosquito netting and the walls are, in fact, flaps, which can be rolled up to create a feeling of space and bring you in closer contact with the bush.The furnishings blend natural materials with contemporary décor and each tree house has an en suite bathroom with a double shower. Your private balcony is a good place to relax, looking down on the world, and perhaps do a bit of game spotting.

Day Game Drive

Tarangire is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. The park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees  and tree climbing lions. Visitors to the park can expect to see any number of resident zebra and wildebeest in addition to the less common animals. Other common animals include waterbuck, giraffe, and olive baboons. Home to more than 550 species, the park is a haven for bird enthusiasts who can expect so see dozens of species even in the dry season. The swamps are the focus of the largest selection of breeding birds anywhere in the world. Yellow-collared Lovebirds are a common bird sighting in the trees along the Tarangire River.
