Located in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, Ol Seki Hemingways Mara Camp offers an extraordinary East African safari experience. This luxurious and exclusive camp offers excellent service, top-class facilities, and excellent gaming activities. The abundance of wildlife in the Naboisho area allows you to enjoy Big 5 game viewing in a pristine and untouched location away from the hustle of mass tourism.
Enjoy private game viewing from the comfort of open-top 4x4’s, night game drives, or head out on guided walks for a more intimate experience of the African wilderness. Cultural visits to the local Maasai village can also be arranged for you to learn more about local traditions and customs.

Room

Our camp is small and exclusive which means we can only host a maximum of 20 guests. We have eight stylish tents, each one expertly designed to offer secluded privacy and spacious accommodation in safari-chic muted tones of vanilla and taupe. Every tent sits on a private vantage point up on the rocky escarpment so you have a 270 degree view of the bush from your bed. We have six domed Nina tents and two expansive suites - Simba and Chui. Hot running water blasting through rain shower-heads and dainty flush loos are a feature of every ensuite bathroom. These low-impact structures are camouflaged by the landscape and are fashioned for sustainability - they include ingenious features that promote conservation and minimise waste.

Nina Tent

These tents are ideal for couples. The high dome centres over a double bed decked out in fine linens. Six opening panels encompass the bed on three sides which mean that from the comfort of your pillow, you can watch the dawn break in panorama. The rear section of the tent houses your ensuite bathroom and dressing area and in front of the tent is a large wooden deck where you can enjoy private dining, sunbathing and star gazing. The tents are huge and beautiful and you’ll forget that there are any other structures nearby, so well hidden is each tent.

Simba Suite

The Simba Suite is a self contained pent-house in the bush with a private driveway. Complete with kitchen, dining room, living area which connects two enormous double bedrooms, both ensuite, you could house your family here while on safari or just sprawl out in the extensive luxury of a private suite all by yourself. There’s a fully stocked bar and fridge and you can decide the level of service you require - we can provide a tent attendant to be present at all times to cook, pour your drinks and make coffee or we can make your staff invisible and give you the freedom to help yourself to the amenities. The expansive deck can house the telescope at night so you can admire the galaxy or during the day its linen sofa-bed is the ideal place to lounge and flick through the wildlife guide books or the historical photographic books to be found on the bookshelf in your suite. This is ultimate privacy - you need not meet another guest at Ol Seki, unless you’d like to.

Chui Suite

This suite offers greater individual privacy than the Simba suite as the two ensuite double bedrooms are separated from the central living space. The main area between the bedroom tents houses the kitchen, lounge and dining room. The three distinct structures are connected by wooden boardwalks. This means that if other members of your party want to stay up late in the private bar, you can retire to the quiet seclusion of your room next door with a comfortable distance between you and the hub of activity. This suite is ideal for families or friends travelling together who would also like some privacy within the group.

Evans our chef is on hand to prepare your eggs exactly as you like them. Lunch might be a tasty risotto or quiche with fresh herbs and salad from our organic vegetable garden. Bush Breakfasts, Picnic Lunches and Open Air Dining

Our kitchen is totally mobile so don’t be surprised if you find the restaurant floor is the grassy plain of the conservancy one evening or if the kitchen one morning is transformed into a tree trunk and trestle table. Our specially designed safari coolers and hampers make for the most luxurious picnic lunches too. We are not confined to eating in camp so let us amaze you with the most spectacular settings for your meals.

Recreation

The camp has a library tent next to the dining tent and being raised up, both have the most stunning views out across the wilderness. A fireplace deck has also been added in front of the Library tent; this is an ideal spot for sun-downer drinks and a chat about the adventures of the day.

Library Tent

This is the quintessential safari scene that has remained largely unchanged for a century or more - no modern technological interruptions of digital noise or flashing images. Find yourself in the warm glow of the paraffin lanterns and candle-light, the hazy bush noises singing in the background as you survey the Koyaki plains. Now compare yourself to other safari-goers over the ages, captured in sepia images in coffee table books. Or contrast your experiences to those described in racy fiction of heady safari romances and dangerously wild encounters. Our shelves offer a variety of Africana - fiction, educational books about local tribes and traditions, guides to wildlife, photographic accounts of East Adrican history. Come and peruse the collection and we’ll help you to drinks from the bar at any time of day or night.

The Deck

Descend from the Library to the low deck, following the lantern-lit pathway. From this ledge where the evening camp fire blazes, you have an excellent view of the waterhole and the stars. Many warm evenings have been whiled away here in canvas safari chairs...

Wedding

Seclusion, sultry sunsets and sparkling stars - it should be called Ol Sexy. Where better to escape with your lover than to a softly furnished boudoir in the romantic remoteness of the African wilderness? Celebrate your engagement, honeymoon, anniversary, birthday or just runaway together for a while to a place where drudgery can’t interrupt your alone-time. Our staff will create the privacy you crave and, under the spell of the Masai Mara’s magic, you’ll fall in love all over again.

Honeymoon

This is the ultimate honeymoon destination. After all the pomp and ceremony of your wedding, let us host you and organise your days while you enjoy each other’s company. Maybe you’d like to surprise your new wife by floating into the dawning light, high in a hot air balloon, and toasting your life together with a champagne breakfast in the bush. Perhaps a midnight expedition by moonlight to the shimmering silver plains of Naboisho will awaken that primeval desire in your husband to protect and seduce you. Let your imagination run wild, and we’ll run around to make it happen.

Blessing

While we can’t offer full-blown weddings at Ol Seki, we can organise a special blessing for the married couple. The local tribal priest presides over a traditional Masai ceremony in which your marriage is consecrated through ancient rites. This open air spectacle is colourful and joyful; traditional tribal songs herald the union of the couple robed in bright Masai shukas (woollen blankets).
