A holiday to Northern Tanzania and Swahili Coast is incomplete if you don’t go on wildlife tours. The Tarangire National Park has the second-highest concentration of animals and birds after Serengeti. It is also believed that Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the world, and these gentle pachyderms dot the landscape like grazing cattle.

Great baobab stands dot the landscape here; they seem to date back to a time when the earth was still a smoldering, bubbling cauldron not inhabited by life. Giant termite mounds spring up from the sun-baked ground and give the landscape an otherworldly look. A trip to the Tarangire is like going back to the beginning of Time.
