The perfect setting for honeymoons and romantic breakaways, the cluster of luxury lodge buildings at Cape Kidnappers are suggestive of a working farm – a marriage of river stone and weathered wood, the buildings combine rustic and textured materials with comfortable modern furniture.
The main lodge features many warm and welcoming common areas in which to relax, including lounge and dining spaces and 'outdoor rooms'. Roaring open fires, contemporary art and stylish interior design await you here. The main lodge also features a wine cellar with tasting room and a fully-equipped gymnasium.

Dining

Our Culinary team always aims to source produce as locally as possible, and with an idyllic Hawke’s Bay location, their “food miles” have been relatively few. Now with the Cape Kidnappers' vegetable garden in place and its close proximity to the lodge, our chefs are able to create daily menus based on what is freshest, utilising many vegetables straight from the garden and offering the most seasonal produce to our guests.

Hotel Restaurant

Chef Tim Pickering presides over the main dining room where decor is modern rustic and the à la carte dinner menu of classical French and English dishes, influenced by fine seasonal New Zealand produce, changes nightly. Local ingredients, such as lamb and beef, get star billing, as well as fresh seafood from the area.

Our 6,000 acre farm offers a number of ceremony and reception locations. Weddings

As you become swept away in the romance of attending to the final touches for your day, your guests will have the opportunity to explore their adventurous side by quad biking through the hill-top landscape, fly-fishing, visiting the world’s largest gannet colony or cuddling one of our resident kiwi birds at our Cape Sanctuary – dedicated to repopulating New Zealand’s nearly extinct national bird.  Guests can also enjoy the surrounding vineyards of Hawke’s Bay, bicycling or simply enjoying the calm of walking our lavender fields and chef’s garden.
