Overview

Although the dinosaurs that once roamed Alberta became extinct millions of years ago, they left behind enough evidence that researchers are able to do some incredible hands-on study of the evolution of these prehistoric giants. Located within Midland Provincial Park, the Royal Tyrrell Museum has been welcoming visitors since 1985 and is considered a world-class palaeontology museum and research facility. You’ll find many fascinating exhibits and can even participate in an optional guided walk through the park. (Some of these activities require advance reservations). Outdoor activities are offered in spring, summer and fall. Audio guides are available for purchase on site, with information in English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Japanese. This excursion is a Signature Experience with Destination Canada.
