The West Coast Wilderness Lodge Resort offers guests unsurpassed scenery, exceptional adventure opportunities, fresh seasonal cuisine and a variety of accommodations to suit all tastes. Enjoy the solitude at the edge of the wilderness following a scenic three hour drive or 45 minute float plane trip from downtown Vancouver. As one of the most easily accessible wilderness resorts in British Columbia we are the perfect spot to appreciate all that the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
Our packages offer many excellent options for adventure and dining combined with our luxurious accommodations, enabling guests to customize their wilderness experience. Located in the tiny fishing Village of Egmont, the sheltered waters around the Lodge are calm and perfect for relaxed kayaking at all ability levels. Our waters boast a wealth of diverse and abundant marine life thanks to the mighty Skookumchuck Rapids, just three miles away. The awesome power of these incredibly turbulent tidal rapids create a very special environment for all wildlife in the area.

Room

Nature is the design inspiration for all our accommodations. Our 26 guest rooms feature thoughtful furnishings, private decks, down bedding and fluffy towels. Choose between the incredible panoramas of our ocean view accommodations or the quiet serenity of our forest-view rooms and suites, nestled in among the cedars and ferns.

The Suites



Our suites feature a lovely sitting area, private deck, bar fridge, satellite television and complimentary coffee service. The king-sized bed always has the best view possible. Several suites come with a pull-out couch, perfect for children.

As you dine, you'll see cormorants, eagles and the occasional  sea lion sporting in the waters far below.  Watch the currents switch direction as the tide changes with all the power of the Skookumchuck Rapids, just a few miles away. This spectacular setting is the perfect environment to enjoy our take on the best of West Coast cuisine. Pacific Yachting Magazine recently called us "the best water-front restaurant in this part of the world." With cedar and fir forests, glacier-cut fjords, pristine lakes, dozens of waterfalls and hundreds of tiny islands nearby, get ready for an adventure. The highlight of any trip to the Lodge is the many activities we offer and the exciting destinations we visit. Listed on the left are a few things to do during your stay.   You can rent out our equipment and facilities and go exploring on your own — our experienced guides are always on-hand to offer advice. Rentals include canoes, kayaks, fishing equipment, archery range & more. Or, ask a guide to tag along for a guided trip with wilderness and wildlife interpretations.

West Coast Float Plane Tours

Fly by float plane into Phantom Lake, a glacier-fed alpine lake, to explore the beautiful B.C. Alps. This rugged wilderness area is high in the Tetrahedron mountains northeast of Sechelt and southwest of Whistler. A short thirty-minute flight is all it takes to escape to this majestic mountain lake in the heart of B.C.'s true wilderness.

Swim & Canoe in our Local Lakes

The area surrounding West Coast Wilderness Lodge has several amazing lakes. Nearby Waugh Lake is a popular place for our guests to enjoy the summer fun    You can take the private and easy 3 kilometre trail through the woods in our backyard. Next closest is North Lake and Klein Lake, a mountain lake great for fishing and canoeing.  The large, crystal-clear Ruby Lake is a little further up the road but is fed by thermal vents and offers some excellent lookout sites. Our guides know all the tiny trails and can direct you to the perfect spot for a family outing on the Sunshine Coast. Not only can our lakes' water temperatures reach 82F, some of Canada's natural icons such as the beaver and the loon make these lakes their home. We strongly recommend you take a canoe with you or have us drop one off, and bring a packed lunch. Paddle out to one of the points for an afternoon of swimming and fishing and we can pretty much guarantee you will be the only ones there.
