All rooms at Bluebay are spacious, bright and beautifully decorated in Zanzibari style with hand-carved furniture. The comfortable Garden Rooms overlook the grounds, while the popular Superior Rooms are elevated, offering views over the gardens to the beach and ocean beyond. The exclusive Junior Suites are only 30 metres from the ocean and are split level with a large seating area, magnificent verandah and even a private garden with outdoor shower. Finally, there are two beachfront Sultan Suites: the ultimate in opulence, privacy and luxury – a Sultan would expect nothing less!
Garden Room
Comprising six bungalows, each with four en-suite rooms, the 24 Garden Rooms overlook the resort’s beautiful landscaped gardens. The Garden Rooms share their own private pool.
Junior Suite
Privately situated in three bungalows just 30 metres from the beach, the 6 Junior Suites are extremely spacious and luxurious-90m2. Each suite has its own own lounge area, a huge verandah and a private garden featuring an external shower: your private enclave of peace and tranquility.
Sultan Suite
The ultimate in opulence, the two Sultan Suites are situated at the ocean’s edge and offer accommodation truly fit for a Sultan. A huge double room, with a separate dressing room, leads to a relaxing lounge and out onto a magnificent verandah.
For more than 200 years, the islands of Unguja and Pemba along with much of the coast of Eastern Africa was ruled by the mighty Sultans of Zanzibar. Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa is home to the One Ocean Dive Centre, Zanzibar’s most respected 5-star PADI dive operator. The most popular destination for divers and snorkellers is Mnemba Atoll, which lies off the northern tip of the island in the channel that separates Zanzibar from Pemba Island. The pear-shaped atoll measures around 15 square kilometres and the reefs are home to a huge variety of marine life from the tiniest of shrimp to huge turtles. The rare dragon moray eel and the world’s largest nudibranch, the Djibouti Spanish Dancer are frequently seen. Whilst most dives are relaxing and shallow, there are also some very deep wall dives suitable for advanced divers. Transport is provided to and from the resort.
